An introduction

Hi there! I am Prathik Gunturu, a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering at NC State University. Thank you for stopping by on my webpage!

Live the moment, love the experience.

Since a young age, I have always been interested in all thing's hobbyist. I would pester my dad to let me get new tools to expand my horizons and I would try to disassemble anything that I could get my hands onto. With years of experience, I have grown deep knowledge about how products are put together and how to fix them.

Accepted my offer as an Engineering Intern over the Summer

Stellantis

02.13.2024

I have officially accepted my offer to work for Chrysler as an Engineering Intern in the Propulsion Systems department. I will be working out of the Stellantis headquarters, more specifically the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI over the summer. I have had experience with designing model race cars during the pandemic and I am excited to use that experience to propel myself further by learning new skills. I am excited to take on the challenge of my first experience with real-world engineering!

Joined EWB-NCSU and took the position of Grants Sub Team Lead

Engineers without borders

02.20.2024 - Current

Engineers Without Borders USA builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs. Our highly skilled volunteers work with communities to find appropriate solutions for their infrastructure needs. I joined EWB-NCSU in February to take part in the Sierra Leone Water Project that is taking place at the Browndel School. I immediately fell in love with the organization as I was able to connect with fellow engineers and work towards a cause that is greater than us! I jumped at the opportunity of working as the Grants sub-team lead for the project, a position that requires in-depth knowledge about the progress of the project.

Started my Fourth Semester in Mechanical Engineering

NC State university

08.15.2023 - Current

With the start of the new year, came a new semester. This semester, I enrolled in MAE 201 (Engineering Thermodynamics 1), MAE 208 (Engineering Dynamics), MA 341 (Applied Differential Equations 1), MAE 305(Mechanical Engineering Laboratory 1), ACC 210(Concepts of Financial Reporting), REL 334(Japanese Religions). I am excited for this semester as it will be the first time, I take courses towards my Business Entrepreneurship minor. Additionally, I look forward to further my knowledge with Mechanical Engineering.

Received Solidworks Certification in Mechanical Design

CSWA - C-6W3SYEFDNQ

01.03.2024

During my Fall semester of 2023 at NC State, I took GC 120, a class that introduces students to SolidWorks and as a part of the class, we were able to take the CSWA certification exam. Being taught by Dr. Cameron Denson, we were able to learn the nuances of 3D design. Although I had experience with Fusion 360 prior to this course, I had only taught myself through a Udemy course. In this class, however, we were able to explore the more complex functions of SolidWorks and we were able to expand our knowledge of 3D modeling tools. Future prospects with relation to 3D modeling excite me and I look forward to utilizing my skills to the fullest extent!
